But let's get smarter and make this superb hooded jacket. No teenager will refuse this. It is warm, comfortable, the “right” color. And even if the wind rises, the hood will always help out! And most importantly - a jacket pattern for a boy is built very simply!

To build a sweatshirt pattern, you can use them when building. Since the jacket is insulated, it is necessary to make additional increases to the measurements. Depending on the thickness of the insulation, the increase can be increased.

Rice. 1. Pattern of a jacket for a boy - building a back and a shelf

Building the back of the jacket

From point A, lay down AG \u003d Armhole depth according to the measurement + 2 cm (increase in the freedom of the armhole), AT \u003d Back length to the waist according to the measurement. From the points obtained, draw horizontal segments to the right until they intersect with segment AD. Points T1, G1 are received.

Back neckline. From point A, set aside 7 cm to the right (1/3 of the half-girth of the neck according to the measurement + 1.5 cm for all sizes). From point 7, set aside 2.5 cm (for all sizes) and draw a concave line for the neck of the back.

Side line. Divide GG1 in half and draw down the segment until it intersects with the DC line - the segment G4H is obtained - the side line of the jacket.

Auxiliary armhole lines. From the point G4, set aside to the left and to the right by ½ the width of the armhole according to the measure with an increase: (Spr + 4) / 2. Points G2 and G3 are obtained. From the obtained points, lift up the perpendiculars to the intersection with the line AB. Points P and P1 are received.

From point P, lay down 2 cm and through point 2 draw a line of the shoulder of the back with a length equal to the length of the shoulder according to the measurement + an increase in shoulder lengthening of 1.5-2 cm.
To draw the back armhole line, divide the G2 angle in half and draw a bisector 3 cm long. Draw the back armhole line from the extreme point of the shoulder through the middle point of the division of PG2, point 3 to point G4.

Building a jacket shelf

Shelf lift. From point T1, set aside up the length of the front to the waist according to the measure - point W is obtained.

Front neck. From the W point, draw a 7 cm long segment to the right (1/3 of the half-girth of the neck according to the measurement + 1.5 cm for all sizes). From point 7, lay down 7.5 cm (1/3 of the half-girth of the neck according to the measurement + 2 cm for all sizes) and draw a concave line of the front neck.

Front shoulder. From point P1, set aside 2 cm down and through point 2 draw the front shoulder with a length equal to the length of the back shoulder.

Front armhole line. To draw a front armhole line, divide the G3 angle in half and draw a 3 cm long bisector.

Draw the pocket lines on the shelf as shown in fig. 1, reshoot the leaflet on tracing paper.
The size of the leaflet depends on the size of the jacket and can be increased or reduced in accordance with the proportions, the location of the leaflet may also vary depending on the size.

After building the back and front of the jacket, mark the lines of the lines (they are paired at a distance of 1 cm from each other) and proceed to the construction of the sleeve pattern.

Sleeve pattern for a jacket for a boy

Draw a rectangle ABCD. AB = DC = Arm circumference at the top + 10 cm.

IMPORTANT! The increase can be increased or decreased, depending on the thickness of the insulation.

Rice. 2. Jacket pattern for a boy - building a sleeve

Sleeve length - the lines of the rectangle AD and BC are equal to the length of the sleeve by measure.

Eye height. From point A down, set aside 1/3 of the Half-girth of the chest according to the measurement and put a point P. From point P to the right, draw a straight line until it intersects with the line BC. Mark the intersection point with the letter P1.

Auxiliary sleeve lines. Divide the line AB into four equal parts. Designate the middle point of division with the letter O, and the division points on the left and right - O1, and O2. Points H, H1 and H2 were obtained on the lower line of the sleeve. From points O, O1, O2, lower the straight lines down to the intersection with the DC line and their intersection points are denoted by the letters H, H1, H2.

Eye line. Connect points P, O, as well as O, P1 with dotted lines. Mark the points of intersection of the dotted lines of the auxiliary lines with the letters O3 and O4. Then divide all the segments of the dotted lines (between the auxiliary lines) in half. From the division points at a right angle to the dotted line, set aside: from the PO3 line down 0.5 cm, the O3O line up 2 cm, OO4, up 1.5 cm, O4P1 down 2 cm. From the point O3 up, set aside 1.5 cm and place point O5. Draw an eye line through the points P, 0.5, O5, 2, O, 1.5, O4, 2, P1. O - the high point of the eye of the sleeve.

EXTRA ADVICE! After the sleeve pattern is built, measure the length of the sleeve okon according to the pattern from point P through point O to point P1. Similarly, measure the length of the armhole in front and back of the product according to your pattern for comparison. Compare the obtained values: the length of the eyelet should be 1-2.5 cm longer than the length of the armhole (for fitting the eyelet). In any other case, you should increase or decrease the increase when constructing the width of the mesh of the sleeve.

To narrow the sleeve at the bottom, draw 2 segments as shown in fig. 2. The width of the sleeve at the bottom can be increased, depending on the size and thickness of the insulation. Mark the place for the emblem along the line of the descent of the eye - see fig. 2 (glue the finished emblem along the marking and additionally stitch along the contour).

A fleece-lined, thin jacket for children to keep you warm on chilly autumn days, while a hood helps you hide from the wind. According to our pattern, you can sew a jacket for both a boy and a girl. The pattern is designed for a child of 2 years.

Children's jacket: preparation for sewing and material selection

To sew a children's jacket, you will need a fabric for the upper part (preferably waterproof), fleece for the lining, knitwear ("elastic") for the cuffs and a detachable zipper. Fabric consumption - two lengths of the product plus 10 cm, for allowances. In order to accurately determine the consumption of fabric, take a sheet 150 cm wide, fold it in half. Then lay out patterns on it, taking into account allowances for seams and the number of parts. The main parts should lie in parallel. Use a measuring tape to measure the length of the fabric. This will be the exact cost. If you take the main fabric with a pattern (pattern) in one direction, keep this in mind and do not turn the pattern over. Instead of jacket fabric, you can choose another dense fabric: jeans, velveteen, suede.

To build a pattern, we need paper, it can be old wallpaper, graph paper, or A4 sheets.

So, let's sew a children's jacket!

Building a pattern

First, draw a rectangle. For the details of the front and back 36x17.5 cm, for the sleeves 28x40 cm. Then draw the armholes and the neck.

cutting

Allowances for seams and cuts - 1.5 cm. For the hem of the bottom of the sleeves - 4 cm. For the hem of the bottom - 4 cm.

From jacket fabric:

  • back detail 1 pc;
  • front detail 2 pcs;
  • sleeves 2 pcs;
  • hood 2 pcs.

From fleece:

  • back detail 1 pc;
  • front detail 2 pcs;
  • sleeves 2 pcs;
  • hood 2 pcs.

Working process

We grind the sleeves from the main fabric with the details of the front and back. Notch the armhole allowances, iron the seams.

We grind the side seams of the jacket and sleeves at the same time

We do the same with the details of the lining.

Sew together the details of the hood. Then we sew together the hood of the main fabric with the hood of the lining.

Attach the hood to the jacket. We mark the middle of the back on the main fabric. Fold the back seam of the hood with the mid-back line. Front side of the back to the front side of the hood. Lay the lining on top, right side up. Allowances for the zipper should remain on the details of the front.

Sew on the cuffs. Fold cuff in half, inside out. We sew the cuffs in the same way as the hood. We turn the sleeves from the main fabric and the lining inside out. We combine the seams of the sleeves from the main fabric and the lining. There is a cuff between the two sleeves. Sew the cuff edges together to the lower sleeve edges, while stretching the cuff.

We sew a zipper. We retreat from the bottom of the front of the jacket 3 cm, make a mark. From the mark we sew halves of the zipper, tuck the ends of the zipper.

This was a small preface, and now we will sew a children's jacket with your own hands.

This jacket is suitable for both boys and girls.

For this jacket I needed:

  • 2 m of raincoat fabric (you can take two colors of 1 m each to make the jacket more fun)
  • synthetic winterizer 100 - 1.5 m
  • 1 m of lining fabric
  • zipper 40 cm
  • elastic band 5 cm wide - 2 m

Download children's jacket pattern, cut out the details from the fabric.

Leave large allowances - 5-10 cm, so that later, when you make the quilting and the part fits, cut the allowances to the required 1.5 cm.

I will not post a photo of the step-by-step process, as it completely repeats my two jackets: winter jacket with synthetic winterizer And men's windbreaker. They have the same sewing principle, like all jackets. So if you learn and sew at least one product, then the sea will be knee-deep to you.

We mark the control points with the help of notches on the fabric (3 mm) for allowances.

We draw on the front side of the raincoat fabric with a thin remnant or a mark of the quilting line.

Bending and quilting parts

We quilt the details, then we apply the pattern to the details again and cut the allowances to the required ones. This process is called trick.

We make a framed pocket on the front details of the jacket. You can make a pocket with a leaf, or you can insert a pocket zipper. It depends on the model of the jacket and desire.

Doing cuffs on the jacket. Very detailed description of the cuffs

Making a plastron: this is a bar that prevents air from entering the zipper. The plastron should be 2 cm wide in finished form, the floor of the insulation layer is sewn into it, 2 cm shorter than the zipper (one cm above and 1 cm below the jacket).

We prepare burlap pockets. The depth of the children's pocket is a little more than a palm.

Quilt the sleeves of the jacket. We do the basics.

Making a hood on a children's jacket

Doing collar:

Preparing center insert on the elastic band for the bottom of the jacket:

The height of the insert in the cutting is equal to the width of the cuff for the elastic on the bottom of the jacket. The width of the insert is 5 cm in finished form, and 7 cm in cutting. Cut out 2 such details from the main fabric. Insert the floor of the insulation layer into the central insert.

When the individual parts of the jacket are ready, we proceed to assemble the jacket:

I'm showing photos not of this children's jacket, but the meaning remains the same.

  • Cotton raincoat fabric - 0.7 m,
  • Cotton with a pattern for lining (you can also take synthetic fabric) - 0.7 m,
  • Jacket garter to match the main fabric - 1 pc. (1m),
  • Detachable zipper in the color of the main fabric - 1 pc.,
  • Rep tape for eyelets - 10 cm,
  • Threads in the color of the fabric - 1 spool,
  • Tailor pins.
  • Fabric scissors.

The pattern of the jacket is taken from a children's magazine (you can download the pattern, model 22). The pattern itself has not been changed, but, unlike the magazine version, we have used a fabric of the same color, and a jacket garter was taken for the cuffs and neck, and not pieces of ribana.

Making a jacket for a boy:

1. Transfer the pattern of the desired size to paper, cut out all its parts and cut out the necessary details from the fabric. From the lining fabric it will be 2 shelves, 1 back and 2 sleeves, from the jacket garter - a rounded collar, two cuffs and a lower pull-down bar.

2. From the main fabric, cut out 2 front yokes, 2 center fronts, 2 side fronts, 2 bottom placket pieces, 1 back yoke, 1 center back, 2 side backs, 2 front sleeves, 2 back sleeves, 4 burlap pockets, 2 picks for lining.

3. If all the details are already cut out, you can start assembling the lining. In fact, you need to sew an "inner jacket" that will be inserted into the main jacket with the right side to the body. First, lay a shelf of lining fabric in front of you and attach a part of a selection of raincoat fabric to its bend. Secure with pins.

4. Set the interval to 3 on the machine - it is with it that you will sew the entire jacket using a regular straight seam. It will not be necessary to process the allowances: the allowances of all seams will be hidden inside the jacket. So, stitch the intended seam, fastening the hem and the lining shelf together. Repeat the same with the other shelf.

5. Unscrew the collar and topstitch the previous seam from the right side. Step back from the seam by 3 mm and simply “walk” the machine parallel to the seam.

6. The back of the lining, unlike the back of the main part of the jacket, does not need to be sewn together - it is one-piece. Therefore, now you need to put the back part of the lining fabric in front of you and attach the two front parts to it, matching them in the shoulders. Fasten the shoulder lines with tailor pins.

7. Machine stitch the shoulder seams of the lining jacket.

8. Further "according to the plan" - sleeves. If you look at the pattern of the sleeve, you will see that the top line of the left and right halves is slightly different: the part that should be sewn to the front of the jacket has a deeper cut. Accordingly, on the other sleeve, this cutout should be on the opposite side. To sew these pieces in correctly, it's best to first attach the sleeves to the lining and make sure there is a larger opening in the front.

9. Attach the sleeve with pins to the armhole of the sleeve (in this case, you need to fold the fabrics with the right sides inward). Immediately attach the second sleeve on the other side of the product.

10. Sew the sleeves using the same straight stitch on the sewing machine. As a result, you will get this part of the jacket:

11. Turn the product inside out and fasten with pins the side seams that pass into the seams of the sleeves.

12. Machine sew these seams.

13. In practice, you have already dealt with the lining - it remains only to attach a loop with which you can hang the jacket. Bend the grosgrain tape and pin its two ends to the top line of the back lining.

14. Make a straight seam, stepping back from the top edge of the back a few millimeters. Use it to secure the loop to the fabric.

The lining for the children's jacket is ready! Ahead is a more difficult stage: sewing in a zipper, making pockets and sewing on a collar with cuffs. But as a result, you will get an exclusive jacket for your baby!

Today, on the shelves of children's stores, you can certainly find interesting and practical things for a child. Branded and not necessarily expensive and cheaper. But there are mothers who want to have things that are unique in their kind, so that such clothes cannot be seen on any other child. There is only one way out - to sew it yourself.

You can make a pattern of a children's jacket for a boy or girl, and then sew an excellent new thing on your own in one evening. But only on condition that you have minimal sewing skills and have sewing equipment in your arsenal.

Consider the simplest pattern for a children's jacket, but at the same time you can decorate it as you wish. Add interesting details that will make it absolutely unique. You may even be asked where you purchased such a wonderful copy.

Jacket for a boy

Patterns of a children's jacket for a boy or girl aged 1 to 3 years are practically the same, you can only focus on individual details and the choice of fabric. For example, it can be embroidery, applique, decorative stitching, which is typical for both boys and girls.

For boys, you can use elements such as rockets, ships and ships, airplanes and helicopters, cars. You can apply sports elements: balls, clubs, sewn numbers. You can buy ready-made chevrons, thermal stickers, stitched embroidery in any sewing department. And if you are the owner of a sewing machine with embroidery functions, then this will greatly simplify your task.

You also need to consider the color of the fabric and its combinations. For boys, the following colors are suitable: blue, blue, red, black, gray, different shades of brown.

Jacket for girls

A jacket for a little beauty can be decorated with images of fairies, butterflies, cats, beads, flowers, bees and ladybugs, hearts. Cute animals are also suitable - cats, chanterelles, birds, bunnies.

For girls, harmonious colors will be: pink, turquoise, beige. You can use neutral colors that are suitable for any gender: green, yellow, white.

Dimensions

Let's make a pattern of a children's jacket for the age from 1 year to 3 years. But the kids are all different, so before sewing, you need to take all the measurements from the child:

  • Waist;
  • neck volume;
  • sleeve length with and without a bend at the elbow;
  • chest volume;
  • neck volume.

Write down all sizes and compare with the sizes indicated on the pattern of the children's jacket given in the article. This will help guide you through the drafting process.

So, if you need a pattern of a children's jacket for a boy for 1 year, you can use the same pattern, just adjust the dimensions: add or reduce, if necessary, the length of the sleeve or the length of the product, the width of the shelves and back.

What is required for sewing

To build a pattern you will need:

  • graph paper or tracing paper;
  • pencil;
  • ruler;
  • tape measure.

For cutting: scissors, chalk or dry soap, safety pins.

For future product:

  • piece of denim;
  • threads;
  • lace fabric only on the hood;
  • 2 buttons on pockets;
  • zipper;
  • and of course, a good mood, because you are sewing for your beloved child!

Threads can be either in the tone of the fabric, or vice versa, contrasting, they can be used to make decorative stitching on pockets or a hood.

This model is without lining, internal seams are processed with an overlock seam.

This pattern of a children's jacket for a boy is also quite suitable if you modify it a little. For example, remove gathers on the yoke front and back, make a straight back and shelves. And of course, remove the lace from the hood, it can be replaced with a checkered cotton fabric, then we will get a quite decent jacket for a little boy.

And if you want to insulate the jacket for cool weather, in this case you will need insulation and lining. The insulation can be stitched directly onto the lining fabric, or you can buy everything separately. A synthetic winterizer, holofiber, tinsulate or any other can be used as a heater.

We select the material

You can buy ready-made fabric in the sewing departments or use an old unnecessary thing: give it a new life, so to speak.

The material can be to your taste: raincoat denim, corduroy, fleece, even velvet or knitwear are also suitable.

How to sew

Consider the sewing sequence step by step, according to the pattern of a children's jacket with a hood for 3 years. Step 1 - pattern:

  • Make a pattern on graph paper or any other paper - you can use tracing paper, a table with the desired dimensions.
  • If you triple the dimensions shown in the photo, use a ruler to transfer the pattern to paper.
  • The finished pattern must be cut without allowances.

The following details were obtained: a shelf - 2 symmetrical details, a back - 1 piece with a fold, a hood - 2 symmetrical details, sleeves - 2 symmetrical details. Pocket - 2 symmetrical parts, pocket valve - 4 parts (two symmetrical).

Step 2 - cut:

  • Lay out the fabric on the wrong side.
  • On the fabric in the direction of the shared thread, lay out the cut out paper patterns, fasten them to the fabric with pins.
  • Circle the pattern with chalk.
  • Add 1.5cm seam allowance on each side. Cut with allowances.

Step 3 - prepare the pockets:

  • We connect the pockets with the lining fabric.

  • We sew the valve, turn it out, iron it.

  • We make a decorative stitching on top of the valve.

Step 4 - assembly:

  • Picking up, connect the shelves and back with the yoke.

  • Stitch shoulder seams.
  • Iron everything.
  • Gather the sleeves at the shoulders.

  • Then from the middle (that is, from the shoulder seam to one side, and then from the shoulder seam to the other side), sew the sleeves.
  • Iron the seams.
  • Then sew the sleeve and sides with one seam.

Step 5 - preparing the hood:

  • Sew the details of the hood: two from denim and two from lace.
  • Insert the lace hood into the denim hood, stitch, turn right side out.
  • From the middle of the neckline along the back, we sew a half of the hood to one side.
  • On the other side, sew the other half of the hood. We do this so that the hood is evenly sewn to the neck.

Step 6 - Zipper:

  • We sew a lock - a zipper to both sides of the shelf.
  • Be sure to match the edges so that it is exactly on the left and right parts of the shelf.
  • We make a decorative stitch.

Step 7 - fold the bottom of the product, stitch it. We sew buttons on the valves.

Jacket is ready! Such a pattern of a children's jacket for a girl of 3 years old can be made and sewn quite quickly.

You can decorate it with additional elements as you wish. Just do it in a timely manner - if these are embroideries or chevrons on the pocket, then sew on when preparing the pocket. If this is some kind of appliqué on a sleeve or back, then in the same way, first sew or glue the appliqué, and then go on step by step.

Such a new and original thing will decorate the wardrobe of a little fashionista or fashionista. Good luck!
