Snowflakes made of threads: master class. DIY Christmas snowflakes made from yarn for knitting

Making snowflakes from threads (with photo)

New Years is soon! We will decorate the room and, of course, the Christmas tree! We talked earlier, and today we will talk about how to make a snowflake out of… threads!

I found a charming snowflake made of thread on the Internet - a great craft for the New Year or a DIY gift. Below detailed description of the master class in pictures creating this winter beauty!

To make snowflakes we will need

  1. Knitting
  2. Scissors
  3. Cardboard
  4. Eyes
  5. Hook

Detailed master class with photos

Step 1. We make a blank from cardboard as for a pompom. We cut out two rings from thick cardboard and also make a round cutout in the middle. We make a cut in the circle to make it convenient to wind the thread. We wind the thread gradually evenly tightly, first in one direction, then in the other. I ended up with two layers of thread. The width of my cardboard is 5 cm, so the finished snowflake is 10 cm wide.

Step 2. We cut the thread along the edge of the cardboard, being careful that the threads do not fall apart.

*********************************************************************

Step 3. We insert a thread 40 cm long between the cardboards, tighten it and tie it tightly into two knots, leaving the ends, which will later become a loop.

*********************************************************************

Step 4. We form six or eight rays from the resulting pompom, tying the rays along the edges with a thread of the same color. We make sure that the thread on which the snowflake will hang is inside one of the rays and comes out of it.

*********************************************************************

Step 5. If you wish, you can create a snowflake face from threads. We make a nose using threads and a hook. We knit a chain of two air loops. Then we make 6 single crochets in the first loop, closing the circle. We make a lifting loop and knit 6 more single crochets in a circle, also completing the circle.

Step 6. We attach the nose to the center of the snowflake by pulling the ends of the thread through the middle to the back side and tying two knots there. We hide the ends.

*********************************************************************

The last step. We attach a mouth under the nose. I made it from red thread. I tied two knots in the middle of a piece of thread. I hid the ends in the middle of the snowflake (like a nose). I attached the nose and mouth with glue. At first I wanted to make the eyes out of cardboard, but I decided that store-bought ones would look more elegant :)

This snowflake now lives in my house :)

Variety of crafts made from buttons

The possibilities for button crafts are endless. Desire and imagination (and of course, the buttons themselves :) - these are the most necessary things for making button crafts with your own hands! We previously discussed the materials for making crafts, as well as a detailed description of the work, in the proposed options for crafts made from buttons below.

DIY fluffy snowflake. Step-by-step instructions with photos

Nikiforova Evgenia Olegovna, teacher of additional education, GBOU boarding school with. Vorontsovka, Yeisk district, Krasnodar region.
Target: make a snowflake from yarn to decorate the room.
Tasks: teach how to make snowflakes from yarn; introduce the technique of making yarn pompoms; teach how to use scissors correctly when cutting threads; develop fine motor skills, imagination, thinking, perseverance, accuracy; open the mind.
Application: can be used as a Christmas tree toy or simply for interior decoration. And my students actually suggested that if you make the snowflake larger, you will get a beautiful and soft pillow.
Equipment: yarn; cardboard rings; scissors.
On the eve of the New Year holidays, as a teacher of additional education, I was tasked with conducting an unusual master class on this topic. And for some reason I immediately remembered a snowflake made from yarn that I made when I was a schoolgirl.
There are no specific age restrictions for creating this craft; in my circle group there are students in grades 5, 7, 8, 9, everyone did it perfectly, and most importantly, they really liked it.
If you use this material for a lesson, I suggest using thematic physical exercises:
Snowflakes are falling from the sky,
Like in a fairy tale picture.
We'll catch them with our hands
And then we’ll show it to mom (arms above head, grasping movements)
And there are snowdrifts around,
The roads are covered with snow (stretching arms to the sides)
Don't get stuck in the field so that
We raise our legs higher (step in place, raising our legs high)
There's a fox jumping in the field,
Like a red, soft ball (jumping in place)
Well, we go, we go (walking in place)
And we come to our house (they approach the tables)

Now let’s move on to the master class itself!
PHOTO 1. So, we will need yarn, two identical cardboard rings and small narrow scissors (so that we can cut the threads without any problems).
In order to make the rings, we will need cardboard (any cardboard, since I have a creative circle, I have a lot of cardboard packaging left over, which I never throw away, but use for various templates) and a compass. We need to draw two circles (the sizes are at your discretion; for example, I drew circles with a diameter of 6 cm and 18 cm) and carefully cut them out. We should have two such rings.
The yarn must be wound into small balls so that each ball fits freely into the hole. I took two colors of yarn: blue for the snowflake itself and white for tying the base and rays.

PHOTO 2. Take one ring and cut the thread (white in my case), which will later tie our base. We tie the thread (at one time, not in a knot) and place it on the ring, as shown in the photo.

PHOTO 3. Next, we cover our structure with a second ring so that two threads are on the outside.

PHOTO 4. Now we will wrap the rings with yarn (in my case blue) so as not to lose the outer two threads for tying. When we wrap the rings, we need to make sure that the threads fit tightly to each other without gaps. And since our internal diameter is smaller, the threads there will periodically overlap each other.

PHOTO 5. This is how it turned out after winding the first ball. Next, take the second one and continue wrapping the rings further.

PHOTO 6. This is how you get completely wrapped rings, the tying threads stick out. I used two balls, the threads were wound in one row tightly to each other. You can also wind the second row, then the snowflake will turn out softer and fluffier.

PHOTO 7. Now we need to carefully cut the threads along the edge of the rings with scissors, so as not to accidentally cut our threads for tying. I have thin nail scissors, and it was convenient for me to cut by running the blades directly between the cardboard rings.

PHOTO 8. After we have completely cut the threads in a circle, we need to slowly and carefully tighten the threads that we had on the outside for tying.

PHOTO 9. Then we carefully remove our rings. After that, we tie the threads into a knot so that our base for the snowflake holds well.

PHOTO 10. Now we straighten and straighten the snowflake the way we had it on the rings. We hide the threads that were tied up.

PHOTO 11. Let's start forming rays. First, we divide the snowflake strings in half, then each half in half again.

PHOTO 12. Next we will need to cut eight small threads (white in my case) to tie the rays. We divide each quarter in half and tie it with thread.

PHOTO 13. We form eight identical rays, cut off the excess threads, and align the rays of the snowflake, if necessary. And now, our beauty is ready.

By the way, you can also decorate it at will with sparkles, sequins, etc., and make eyes and a nose. As your imagination tells you.
Thank you for your attention. I will be glad if my master class will be useful to someone.
It is customary to prepare for the New Year in advance. The apartment is being thoroughly cleaned, carnival costumes are sewn, a holiday menu is selected, children study their roles in the script for New Year's parties, and adults study their roles in corporate events. And you create a lot of crafts with your own hands. After all, you need to decorate the house, prepare nice gifts for loved ones and do your homework - make a craft for the New Year. This master class offers a New Year's craft for the youngest children - a snowflake made of threads. Shall we try?

Materials and tools:

Thin threads for knitting;
- ordinary cotton threads;
- scissors;
- cardboard;
- eyes;
- beads;
- beads;
- compass;
- glue.

How to make a snowflake from threads with your own hands

Take two sheets of any cardboard. Using a compass, draw on each sheet one circle with a diameter of 15 cm and in the middle of it another circle, the diameter of which is 3 cm. Cut out the circles - you should get cardboard “steering wheels”.

We take knitting threads (it’s better to take thin ones, since thick threads will not make a very beautiful snowflake), unwind them a little (we need this so that they can fit into a small circle) and start winding them onto a cardboard base.

We wind one circle. If the cut piece of thread runs out, a new one is cut. One layer is enough.

We take scissors and carefully cut the threads at the edge of the large circle (you can then place the scissors between the cardboard sheets and cut all the threads around the perimeter).

Take a small piece of thread (you can use cotton or the thread that was wound) and thread it between the cardboard bases.

We tighten the thread, tying it in a knot.

We open the threads, we should get a kind of circle of threads.

Visually divide the circle into 8 sectors. We take the threads of sector 1 and tie them into a bundle using cotton thread. We do this with the remaining sectors.

In the middle of the snowflake we glue eyes and a mouth cut out of red cardboard (the mouth can be cut out of felt).

We glue or sew the beads in the places where the bunch is tied into a bun (the eyes, mouth and beads in the master class are glued with a glue gun, but you can use a quick-drying type “Moment”). The snowflake is ready!

Such snowflakes can be made from threads of different colors. How to decorate them in any way. To decorate the second snowflake, we will use beads of a contrasting color to the shade of the knitting threads from which the snowflake is made. We take a thread and a needle, make a stitch, grabbing the threads that were used to make the bundle, string six beads and make a stitch again.

We cover all the rays of the snowflake with beads. The second snowflake is ready! They turned out funny and unusual.

You can decorate your home with these thread snowflakes by placing them on your chest of drawers or fireplace. You can also make a loop, attach it to one bun and hang it somewhere, even on a Christmas tree (if it is large). Of course, such a cheerful snowflake will be a pleasant addition to the gift. Happy New Year! Good luck, health and creative success!

Of course, the most popular material for making snowflakes is paper, but with a little imagination and a little ingenuity, you can make this type of decor from other available materials, such as wire, beads, felt fabric, plastic bottles, cotton swabs and much more. Today we will tell you what to make snowflakes from for home decor. Ready-made snowflakes can be used to decorate a Christmas tree, curtain rod, door handles, ceiling chandeliers, and wall sconces.

What can you make snowflakes from or how to make snowflakes with your own hands.

Such snowflakes can be collected from a wide variety of pasta; in this example, shells and bows were used. We place the future snowflake on the table, glue all the pasta together with a hot glue gun or polymer glue, and finally paint the product with acrylic paint. You can read more about making such snowflakes; various examples of pasta snowflakes are also presented there.

Snowflakes made of wire.

We take a long piece of wire, wind one of the ends into a spiral, string a transparent bead, create a loop, followed by two more loops, twist the ends with loops. We proceed to the next part of the snowflake, thread the bead, create a long loop, press it with our fingers, create two more such loops next to it, twist all three loops one at a time. We do the same with the next parts of the snowflake. From the remaining piece of wire we create a cobweb in the center; to do this, we lead the wire from one ray of the snowflake to another, each time wrapping the ray at the center. You can tie a silver thread to the finished snowflake and hang it on the Christmas tree.

Snowflakes from plastic bottles.

We cut off the bottom of the plastic bottle with a knife, take a thin brush and paint a snowflake on the cut part of the bottle with acrylic paint. Finally, using an awl on top, we create two holes into which we thread a rope to hang the product.

Snowflakes made from paper towel tubes.

Using a stationery knife, cut the slightly flattened paper towel tube into rings 5-7 mm wide. We lay out a snowflake out of them on the table (the product can be supplemented with elements of their paper), glue all the parts with polymer glue or Moment glue. Cover the top of the snowflake with a layer of PVA glue and sprinkle with small sparkles.

Felt snowflakes.

We cut the felt fabric into circles (you can try using cotton pads), use a sewing machine and colored threads to draw out the outlines of the snowflakes, then use scissors to cut out their outlines.

Snowflakes made of beads.

Snowflakes can also be made from beads; the entire process of weaving snowflakes and beads is shown below.

Snowflakes made of beads.

To work, you will need three pieces of wire; they must be soldered or glued together with a glue gun in the center. String beads of different sizes onto the sections of the future snowflake, and so that they do not fall off at the ends, you need to create rings with pliers or treat the last beads with transparent polymer glue.

Snowflakes made from cotton swabs.

We cut out circles from thick colored cardboard, place cotton swabs on them, forming the outline of a snowflake, and glue all parts of the sticks to the base of the circle.

Snowflakes made of woolen threads.

On a sheet of parchment or a piece of film, draw a snowflake with a marker (photo below), grease the surface of the snowflake with rich hand cream. We cut off a short part of the woolen threads, soak it in PVA glue, and apply it to the drawn parts. When all parts of the snowflake are pasted over, use the spout of a bottle of PVA glue to draw the snowflakes piece by piece, covering them with adhesive film. Then we dip the brush into blue gouache and paint the applied layer of glue. We leave the snowflake to dry; when the product is dry, carefully separate it from the parchment or film.

Snowflakes with a hot gun.

We grease a sheet of parchment with rich hand cream, use a glue gun to draw the outline of a snowflake, after the snowflake has hardened, we grease its surface with PVA glue and sprinkle it with glitter. Using a glue gun, glue a string pendant onto the back side.

Snowflakes made from toothpicks.

We lay out two identical lattices from toothpicks, gluing them with PVA glue, then we wrap each of them at the joints with thread. Then we lay one lattice on top of the other, slightly mixing it clockwise, gluing it to each other with transparent polymer glue or Moment.

Snowflake made from matches.

On a piece of paper, draw with a pen and measure out the shape of a snowflake with a ruler. Then we take several boxes of matches and light each match to give them the desired color. Then we glue the matches to the surface of the shape cut out of cardboard. The length of the matches can be adjusted by cutting off the excess with scissors.

Snowflakes made from PVA glue.

Cover a sheet of parchment with a layer of hand cream, then draw the outline of a snowflake with PVA glue, sprinkle the product with fine glitter, and leave to dry completely. Then we carefully separate the frozen snowflake from the surface of the parchment (a video is presented at the end of the article).

Volumetric snowflake made of paper.

On a piece of paper we draw six squares, in each of the squares we draw three more squares. We cut out large squares and bend each one in the middle. Using scissors, we do not completely cut along the lines. We unfold the square, fold the first row of strips, gluing them together with PVA glue or connecting them with a stapler. Turn the square over and connect the next row of strips. Then turn the square over again and connect the next row of strips with glue or a stapler. The same should be done with the next five squares. When all the parts of the snowflake are ready, they need to be connected together, pinned with a stapler.

Snowflake made of textile napkin.

Such a snowflake will greatly decorate the festive table, namely the guest’s plate. We take a square textile napkin, bend all four corners to the center, and also bend the newly formed four corners to the center. Turn the napkin over, bend the corners towards the center, holding it with your hand. We pull the corners out, carefully straightening them with our hands; between the rays of the snowflake we also straighten the corners outward. Place the snowflake on a plate, and place a large rhinestone or cone in its center.

DIY paper snowflakes.

Paper snowflakes can be glued to the glass of a window, hung on a fishing line from the ceiling, chandelier or sconce, and also used to decorate the New Year tree. To create a snowflake you will need a square sheet of paper, bend it in half, bend the corner of the left formed part to the bottom right, now bend the right corner to the bottom left, fold the resulting part in half. Cut off the excess part with scissors. Well, then you need to cut out the snowflakes using scissors according to the templates presented below.
How to fold paper correctly to create a snowflake.

A hat made of thread and toilet paper: we make a miniature hat for decorating a Christmas tree

For a miniature hat you will need: a toilet paper roll (towel), scissors, knitting thread, ruler, decorative ribbon. Cut a ring of about 1 cm from the sleeve. Cut the threads into pieces of equal length. Using a blind loop, we “put” the threads onto the sleeve until we fill it all. After this, we thread the threads through the ring, as if turning it inside out. Using a thin sewing thread, tie the ends of the threads, trim them and fluff them slightly, making a pom-pom. The hat is ready! You can hang it on a Christmas tree or, for example, give it to a doll, or maybe even insulate some homemade snowman!

Garland of thread tassels: making Christmas decorations with your own hands

You can make an unusual garland from threads. To do this, we need to make several tassels and secure them to one long rope. Hanging a garland of threads on a Christmas tree is not very convenient, because... threads can get tangled in Christmas tree branches. But decorating a room with it is a great idea! See step-by-step MK below.

Horse made of threads: making toys with your own hands

You can make real toys from threads with your own hands, for example, a horse, which will become an excellent Christmas tree decoration. For the horse you will need knitting threads (main color and two additional ones for decoration), eyes. Step-by-step photo instructions are given below.

Christmas tree made of threads for children

If you are planning to make New Year's crafts with your children, then, of course, you should choose something simpler. An excellent option would be a Christmas tree made by winding threads on a thick cardboard blank. To make it you will need: a piece of thick cardboard, knitting threads, double-sided tape, beads. Place double-sided tape on the base of the cardboard to secure the thread. Wind the threads tightly onto the cardboard, and in the last row, thread the beads through the thread. Decorate the top with a star button and leave a small thread so that the Christmas tree can be hung.

Christmas flowers made of threads: decorate the Christmas tree with your own hands for the New Year

A simple but original craft made from threads that even kids can do. How to make: wind threads on cardboard as for a pompom, tie in the center. Then we separate a small part of the threads and also tie it at the end. We cut the ends of the flower and decorate the middle with a bead or sequin.

DIY Christmas wreath made of threads

Another simple craft made from threads for the New Year is a wreath. For this craft, it is better to purchase plush threads, so the wreath will look fluffier. In addition, you will need such an unusual base (look at the photo). Next, cut the thread into pieces of the same size with a knot and secure it on each row of the warp. Decorate the wreath with a bow and you're done! See photo of MK below.

DIY Christmas ball made of threads

You can make an original themed decoration for a Christmas tree in the form of a ball of thread yourself. For this craft you will need a foam blank, wooden sticks, knitting threads, and round beads. To make the sticks look like knitting needles, glue round beads on one side. Pierce the foam blank with sticks, like a ball of knitting needles. Now wind the threads so that the workpiece is completely covered with them. The New Year's toy is ready! See detailed MK below.

DIY snowman made of threads

The threads also make very cute snowmen. You can, of course, buy three balls of white thread, connect them together and the snowman is ready! But, in order to save yarn, we will act cunningly. Make three balls of different sizes from plastic bags. Wrap each of them with threads and connect them with an ice cream stick. All that remains is to attach the stick handles and, if desired, decorate the snowman further. elements.

Christmas ball made of threads: making simple New Year's crafts with your own hands

You can decorate the New Year tree with homemade Christmas tree balls made from threads. To make it you will need a plastic Christmas ball, thread, glue. Lubricate the ball with glue and wrap it in a spiral with thread.

Simple Christmas tree made of threads for office decor

The New Year's atmosphere should reign not only at home, but also in the office. If you are planning to decorate your workplace, then we recommend that you pay attention to a simple Christmas tree made of threads in the style of “minimalism”. The Christmas tree is very easy to make, so it will take no more than 15 minutes to create this beauty! You will need: a paper cone for the base, knitting threads, a stand (optional). Make a cone out of thick paper. Threads can be secured with glue or double-sided tape. You should start winding from the top.

New Year's wreath made from Alize puffy yarn

Continuing the theme of New Year's decor, one cannot ignore such an element as a wreath. For this craft, you need to get a special yarn from the Turkish manufacturer Alize - Alize puffy. Thanks to special loops, the wreath turns out voluminous and fluffy. You will also need a base; you can buy foam in the store or make it yourself (from foam rubber or newspapers). Glue the yarn to the base and the wreath is ready!

New Year's stars woven from threads

If you have never weaved with thread before, then be sure to try it. Although, there are probably no girls who have never woven baubles. Today we will weave New Year's stars. In addition to threads, for this craft you will need 5 ice cream sticks. We tie the threads around the stick with a special knot and get a figure similar to a DNA helix. When all five sticks are braided, they need to be glued together in the shape of a star. MK see below.

New Year's ball made of threads: DIY Christmas tree decoration

For this craft you need a foam ball, threads, glue, and colored buttons for decoration. We coat the workpiece with glue and wrap it with threads in a spiral, tightly pressing one row to the other. On top of the threads, the ball can be decorated with buttons or sequins, securing them with safety pins.

Thread wreath in “Dreamcatcher” style

And another version of a thread wreath. To make it you will need a base for a wreath (can be made from a metal hanger), thick yarn, glue, and colored paper for decoration. See the step-by-step master class below.

Thread paintings: New Year's crafts for children

Long winter evenings are the perfect time to get creative with your kids. When paper applications have already been mastered and no longer delight the child, you need to make paintings from threads! The essence of the craft is simple: the threads are cut into small pieces, a suitable picture is prepared in advance (it is better to take drawings without small details), part of the picture is coated with glue and sprinkled with threads. Press it a little, let it dry and shake off the excess. Let's move on to the next part of the picture. You can see examples of finished works below.

DIY crafts for the New Year from threads and glue

Crafts made from threads and glue have gained particular popularity among needlewomen in recent years. And this is not surprising; the products turn out to be very delicate and winter-patterned. Easy to make and very original. We have put together some cool master classes for you that you can get inspired by!

Christmas tree made of threads and glue: step-by-step master class

The most popular craft made from threads is a Christmas tree made from threads and glue. It is very simple to do, but looks very impressive. To make it you will need: a paper cone, thread, PVA glue. Wrap the glue-coated threads tightly around a paper cone. After the glue has dried, remove the cone and the Christmas tree is ready! Additionally, you can decorate it with beads, sparkles, ribbons, buttons and more.

DIY mini Christmas tree made of threads

Another simple version of a Christmas tree made of threads that you can make with your children. For this New Year's toy you will need: a foam cone, knitting threads, felt, a pompom for the top and any decorative elements. Lubricate the foam base with glue and wind the thread tightly. Thread a thread through the pompom and glue it to the top. We cut out a circle from felt, the diameter of the base of the cone, thread a thread with a bell through it and glue it to the base of the Christmas tree. Now all that remains is to decorate the little forest guest and you can hang it! See step-by-step MK below.

You can make original Christmas tree decorations from knitting threads and glue. These can be stars, Christmas trees, balls and other figures. The main thing is to master the technology, and then it’s up to your imagination. So, to make it you will need: thick yarn, PVA glue, a disposable tray (thermal box or something similar), safety pins (you can use matches or small nails). Place the desired figure on the tray with pins. Coat the threads thoroughly with glue (better pour the glue into a container and place the thread there). Wrap the thread along the contour of the figure, and then fill the inner space. Wait for the glue to dry completely and remove the pins. Attach a thread and the Christmas tree toy made from glue and thread is ready!

Balls made from thread and glue are very popular as crafts; they are also called cobweb balls. You will need for needlework: sewing thread, PVA glue, balloon, oil (sunflower or body oil) or Vaseline. First, inflate the balloon to the size you need. Then lubricate its surface with any fatty oil or Vaseline. Pour glue into a container. Wind the threads around the “fat” surface of the ball, do not forget to leave “extra” threads so that the web ball has something to hang on, and then lower it into a bowl of glue and twist it well. After all the manipulations, we send our ball to dry. After the glue has completely dried, the ball must be removed; this is done by piercing a hole.

Star of David made of thread and glue

For this craft you will need pushpins with caps, a board, cling film, PVA glue, and thread. Cover the board with film and stick buttons in the shape of a Star of David. Wrap threads around one triangle, then the second, generously coat them with glue. When the glue has dried, remove the buttons and tie the triangles together at the intersections. The craft is ready!

If simple crafts made from threads, in your opinion, are for weaklings, then it’s time to move on to serious needlework! It's time to take the hook out of your craft box and get real handmade.

So, for those who have just begun their acquaintance with crochet, we offer a simple three-dimensional Christmas tree. To make this you will need: thread, hook, paper cone, glue. We assemble a chain of air loops (you definitely learned this in labor lessons at school), and then glue this chain in a circle to a paper cone. The Christmas tree is ready; if desired, it can be further decorated.

Crocheted Christmas tree: step-by-step MK with photo and description

For those who are at least a little familiar with crocheting, we have an excellent master class on creating a crocheted Christmas tree. There are no tricks here, just a simple double crochet stitch. For those who are not familiar with knitting techniques, we recommend watching this instructional video. So, for a fluffy Christmas tree you will need: threads for knitting “grass”, a hook, beads and ribbons for decoration.

Let's move on to the description of the work: you need to knit a Christmas tree in two threads. To begin, cast on 56 air loops and close them into a ring. The second row, like all subsequent ones, is knitted with double crochets. Starting from the third row, you need to decrease 4 loops in each row, i.e. We divide the number of loops in the row by 4, and we get the number of loops that do not need to be knitted (56/4 = 14, i.e. in the third row we do not knit every 14 loops). The number of stitches in the 4th row will be reduced by four and will be 52 (56-4=52). Again we carry out simple mathematical calculations and find that we need to skip every 13th loop (52/4=13). And so we continue. In the last rows, the decrease will have to be done by eye.

Now the Christmas tree is ready, all that remains is to decorate the knitted beauty, and you can put it in a place of honor!

Using a crochet hook you can knit not only Christmas trees, but also other themed crafts, for example, a Christmas wreath. Make 15-16 air loops from the threads and close them into a ring, then knit three more rows with a regular single crochet, and then secure the thread. The wreath is ready. To decorate with red thread, make 30-35 air loops, pull them through the wreath and tie them with a bow. The crocheted wreath is ready!

Another option for New Year's crafts made from threads can be a knitted cover. You can knit “clothes” for a store-bought ball, which, for example, has lost its appearance, or, as in our version, for an old light bulb, thus transforming an unnecessary item into a Christmas tree decoration.

Crafts from pompoms for the New Year

The most noble material for thread crafts is pom-poms. There are many things that needlewomen make from them: Christmas trees, wreaths, snowmen, various animals and much more. Making a pompom is very easy; you can use a special device, a cardboard circle, your hand or a fork. It all depends on what size pompom you need. But the essence is the same everywhere: wind the yarn around the base, fasten it in the middle with thread and cut the ends. If necessary, trim the ends of the pom pom.

The more yarn you wrap around the base, the fluffier the pompom will be!

Christmas tree made of pompoms: do-it-yourself New Year's crafts

For pompom lovers, we offer a master class on making a Christmas tree. It is better to make pom-poms of different sizes, then the Christmas tree will look more harmonious. In this MK it is proposed to make the Christmas tree multi-colored, but you can use pompoms of the same color, for example, green, in which case the Christmas tree can be additionally decorated with beads. But the multi-colored forest beauty does not need additional decor!

Continuing the theme of pompoms, we invite you to familiarize yourself with a master class on making a New Year's wreath. You will need: a thick base, a lot of pompoms, glue. Cover the base of the wreath tightly with pompoms, wait until the glue dries and you can decorate your apartment!

DIY New Year's crafts from threads and nails

A great craft idea for the New Year would be a picture made of threads and nails or the so-called String Art. Making such a craft with your own hands is not difficult if you follow simple safety rules when driving nails. All you need is a wooden board, a suitable design, nails, a hammer, tracing paper and thread. Transfer the drawing onto tracing paper, attach it to the board and secure it so that it does not slip. Drive nails into the board along the contour of the drawing on the tracing paper, and then remove the tracing paper. Now all that remains is to fill the center of the picture with threads. See approximate New Year's schemes below:

Nitkography: do-it-yourself thread paintings for the New Year

Threadography is a special technique of drawing with threads. Yes, we were not mistaken, namely drawing. This technique originated in Mexico, and today it has become quite widespread here. Even children can make pictures from threads, so you can safely take note of thread printing for New Year’s crafts. Beginners are advised to choose paintings without small details, so they should start searching for a suitable pattern in advance. For crafts using the nitcography technique you will need: cardboard (the basis for the picture), thick PVA glue, knitting threads (it is better if they are the same thickness), scissors, paints. Transfer the picture onto cardboard, coat the outline with glue and circle it with thread. Press the thread well so that it sticks. When the outline is made, all that remains is to fill it with thread. Examples of New Year's thread paintings can be seen below:

Crafts made from threads for the New Year using isothread technique

An excellent New Year's craft would be a painting using the isothread technique, or it is also called thread graphics. The essence of the technique is very reminiscent of String Art (paintings made from threads and nails), but instead of boards and nails, cardboard and a needle are used in isothread. This kind of embroidery is quite original and interesting, but it is not entirely suitable for children, as there may be certain injuries during the work. For New Year's crafts using the isothread technique, you will need cardboard, a suitable picture, thread, and a needle.
