Coat with knitting needles in jacquard pattern in diaries. Knitting technique of double-sided jacquard, master class

The story of how I knitted a coat. Despite the fact that I have always treated knitted coats with distrust, but at the same time I love knitwear and I consider it endless :)

So, I knitted a coat for about a month. Its history is simple and stretches from the "depth of centuries". Several years ago I bought yarn over the Internet. I ordered Magic from Yarn Art (200 m per 100 g) of one color (473), and brought another (577). They explained it simply - the right color was not there :)) I wanted to swear, I was upset, and then I resigned myself. The colors were also fine. I thought I'd give it as a last resort. Over time, the combination of green and burgundy did not start to like me. There was no one to give too. These colors do not suit everyone. Then I wanted to master Entrelak, and such sections would just be in place. But nothing worked out. And then the dream of jacquard took possession of me. It began to seem to me that this section could simply be connected to another and it would not be so gloomy anymore. And then I came across Trinity yarn. And they have a roving of the same thickness, but with acrylic in the composition). And this roving is not entirely "even" in terms of color. In the line of this yarn, some of the shades are in mélange. It solved everything. I have chosen several colors. Light lilac, beige and sand, cold light gray with burgundy specks and the basis of the entire palette is blue-green, deep sea wave. A jacquard thimble has already been purchased for the last project. The knitting needles are "thick" # 3 (I knit with jacquard even looser than usual). I calculated the width and length of the "skirt" of the coat and went to knit in a circle from the bottom. Because counting from above and choosing colors was both lazy and somehow uncertain. I also made beautiful markers for myself. Because I began to make reductions in eight places. I looked for patterns on the Internet and composed on the go. She sketched a whole notebook. Because the rapport changed with every decrease. It was a very enjoyable and exciting knitting! By the end of the skirt, it became clear that I might not have enough yarn and I began to look for where to buy it. And I bought two skeins of the same Magik and one in a pink-brown color (597). I immediately included this pink into the patterns. He was simply necessary. The darts on the chest also did not cause trouble, and then the armholes began. I knitted two sleeves and connected everything on one knitting needles. In short, there are no seams in the carcass. Only everyone is knitting an imitation of a set-in one from above, but for some reason I have everything from below. Well, I myself invent the wheel :))
In general, the new ordered skeins were never useful, and the pink was gone. Also, one skein went lilac, sand, light gray. Blue-green - two skeins. And the green-burgundy original is almost six. In total, almost 1200 gr. The collar is all-knitted, I did not recruit it again, but reduced it along the neckline, leaving the loops on the knitting needle. The placket with jacquard, because the yarn was running out, and one blue simply would not be enough, but with jacquard I liked it. I sewed the lightning in some clever way I found on Pinterest. Added padding and shoulder pads to everything. She deliberately refused the pockets. In general, this is the result. My size is about 48 Russian, height 160. My model has completely different parameters.

And a couple of photos on my carcass, so that you can see the difference in size :) But I have absolutely no wardrobe, and especially shoes. And I'm too critical of myself, so there was a chance that if I didn't shoot on someone, then I would never show my coat :)
