Box made of bamboo napkins. How to make a box from a bamboo napkin stand Making jewelry boxes from bamboo napkins

It always surprises me that very original and unusual things can be created from the simplest and available materials.

It's about how to make such an original little thing as a box from a bamboo napkin.

The idea belongs to Svetlana Ilyina, who invented and photographed the entire process of making a box from a bamboo napkin.

To make a box, we need:

* bamboo napkin;
* corrugated board or plywood fiberboard;
* threads and a needle;
* fabric for finishing the box inside and outside;
* thermal gun with hot melt glue (or you can use silicone);
* coins, beads, braid for decoration;
* a piece of elastic (for fastening);
* acrylic paint, varnish.

From corrugated cardboard or plywood fiberboard, cut 2 sidewalls for the future box. The shape of the sidewalls depends on what size the napkin itself is and what shape you want to make the box.
We glue the sidewalls with a cloth for decoration with decorative fabric... We glue the fabric on the outside.

We glue the sides of the handmade box with a cloth

For interior decoration, we put the sides on the fabric. Sew it or glue it

From the inside, we also glue the fabric to the napkin, or we can sew it by hand, as you prefer. I think it's better to glue it, it will stiffen it.

We assemble the box: using hot melt glue or sew it by hand.

We make a hole for the fastener, decorate the top of the box, gluing fabric, beads, coins ...

We pass a fastener from an elastic band or braid into the hole on the lid of the box, we can decorate or paint the elements with acrylic paint. Then you can cover the entire box with acrylic varnish.

The box is ready!

Such a creation can be used as a gift. I think the box will be very happy.

The clasp on this box is made of magnetic strips.

By a similar principle, you can make not only a box, but also a small handbag by modifying the shape of the sides.

But real needlewomen will certainly figure out how to apply this idea ...

Hello dear needlewomen and needlewomen! I would like to present to your attention a master class on making a bread bin literally from scrap materials.

If you have long dreamed of such an accessory in your kitchen as a breadbox, but did not know what and how it can be made, then after watching this master class, you will understand that you do not need special tools and materials to make your dream come true.

So, let's begin. What we need in our work:
1. Any bamboo napkin.
2. Durable cardboard.
3. Self-adhesive film.
4. Scissors.
5. Glue.
6. Lace.
7. Fabric.
8. Pencil, ruler.
9. In the process of work I decided to buy a small wooden handle (it is not in the photo).

First you need to decide on the size of the bread bin. Start from the size of your bamboo napkin. My napkin is 30 cm wide. The bread box will be 28 cm wide so that the napkin fits nicely on top, 17 cm high and 20 cm deep. It will be more clear later. I cut out from cardboard the bottom measuring 28x20 cm, the front wall 3.5x28 cm. The back wall is 17x28 cm and 2 side walls 17x20 cm. Moreover, the side walls must be rounded so that the bamboo napkin falls smoothly.

Putting together our frame. At this stage, our bread bin looks like this.

We glue the frame with self-adhesive. I chose self-adhesive in the color of rattan, you can choose any color that will be in harmony with the interior in your kitchen. So, we glue the breadbox from the inside.

And now we glue it on the outside.

Now our breadbasket has acquired a more attractive appearance, besides, it has become much stronger. Let's start processing the bamboo napkin. I need to cut it into 2 parts, one of which is equal to the height of the front small wall, i.e. 3.5cm.

Tip: before cutting the napkin, glue the threads that hold the napkin at the cut so that it does not creep. On the larger part of the napkin, glue the fabric. Some napkins are already sold with a fabric on the wrong side, in which case you can skip this step. This will be the inside. I have a transparent glue, after drying it will not be visible.

And also, for a more aesthetic look, we glue the sides of the napkin with lace.

We glue the lace on the side of the napkin, which will be in front.

We still have the second part of the napkin, which we cut off. We glue it to the front wall of the bread bin.

We cut the threads (if you have them), and process the cut by gluing lace. Here we have such a neat cut.

We proceed to the final stage of work. We glue the napkin to the back wall so that it smoothly falls on the side parts of our bread bin, with the fabric down. At this stage, you will understand why the bread bin needs to be made a couple of centimeters less in width than the napkin. Our bread bin is almost ready.

A bamboo napkin for hot can turn into a very beautiful and functional chest or box for storing small things. Moreover, for its manufacture, no other materials are needed. Unless, of course, you want to do additional interior decoration and turn the hot stand into a real box.

It is better to decide in advance with what exactly you are doing. This will determine the size of the future product and, accordingly, the size of the bamboo napkin we need. Please note that the width of the craft will turn out to be less than the width of the napkin itself, since its extreme parts will be used to make the side walls.

What do we need?

  • bamboo napkins / hot coasters (1 or 2 - depending on their size and the size of the future box)
  • cardboard (to seal the bottom)
  • fabric for finishing (optional)

How to make a box?

The bamboo napkin will need to be cut. Take a look at the diagram below.

Pay attention to the letters. Decide on the length (L), height (H) and width (B) of the box. Build the diagram first on cardboard, and then cut a napkin along this pattern.

Assemble the napkin like a regular cardboard box. Hook up all sides with paper clips so that it is convenient to glue them. Apply glue to the inside and let it dry.

The chest in the photo is assembled from two napkins. In this case, the lid is glued to the bottom.

The bottom of the finished box can be sealed with cardboard (depending on what you are going to store inside). If the cardboard doesn't look very nice, stick a piece of pretty fabric of the same size onto it.

The cardboard can be glued to the box or simply placed on the bottom.

You can also make additional padding for the side walls. Or you can glue your pattern (which you previously made from cardboard) with a napkin and only then fold the chest.

The finished box can be decorated with satin ribbons, rhinestones, foamiran flowers and other decorative elements.

The other day in the gift shop, I saw some pretty funny crafts made from bamboo napkins. These were various boxes, boxes, hanging combs, decorated with ribbon, braid and lace. Hands were combed straight from such beauty!

Today I decided to experiment, make a box and, along the way, record a master class.

The use of such a box can be quite extensive: from handicraft supplies, all kinds of needles, pins, buttons to jewelry. But I decided to make a gift box for money.

You will need:

Bamboo napkin
- Cardboard (for sidewalls)
- Fabric (better elastic)
- Braid
- Chinese coins
- Clasp
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Thread with a needle
- Glue gun

Purpose and Size of the Box

So let's get to work. First you need to decide for what purpose you will use the box. Its size will depend on this. For example, for handicrafts you need a large box, which means that it is better to use the whole bamboo napkin. For some little things, you might need a miniature box. I decided to make a money box, so I measured the length on the banknote.

If necessary, mark on the back of the bamboo napkin with a simple pencil and cut off the excess with scissors.

Cardboard sides

Now let's get down to working on the sidewalls. To do this, you need to decide on the height and width of the box you need. Draw the desired sidewall shape on cardboard and cut out four pieces (two for one sidewall, since they will be doubled).

Cloth Trim Inner
Caskets and Sides

The inside of the box will be trimmed with fabric. I took an elastic fabric, cut it out not to the size of the napkin, but about 1 cm less on each edge. Then I sewed it on the back, stretching the fabric. This is necessary so that the fabric does not form folds. If your fabric does not stretch, then it is better to cut napkins to size and glue them.

For the sidewalls, I cut out pieces from the fabric to the size of the cardboard, also four pieces.

After you have sewn the fabric to the seamy side of the bamboo napkin, proceed with the fabric covering all parts of the cardboard sides (as shown in the photo below).

Trim Boxes

Let's start decorating the box. I didn't have a suitable tape at hand, so I used a white elastic band. By the way, it turned out pretty nice.

I glued the elastic with hot glue, slightly stretching it. Then we glue two halves of the side of the box together.

Assembling the Box

Next, we have the most crucial stage - we collect the box from a bamboo napkin and two sides. First, glue the base of the sidewalls vertically on hot glue, as shown in the photo. Then we lift and glue the front of the napkin, then the back to the vertical side of the side. You can also sew all the details of the box together.

You can glue the braid on the upper parts of the sidewalls.

Clasp

It remains only to make the clasp. To do this, I glued a Chinese coin.

Then I glued a pendant made of Chinese coins onto the lid of the box. The loop will serve as a fastener. You can also use other fasteners such as Velcro, magnet, hooks, etc.

That's what I did!

Happily!

I hasten to show you my new creation - my second box made of bamboo napkin.

This time I took a dark bamboo napkin, trimmed around the edges with tape. I tried to bend it to represent the shape and size of the box. It turned out that it would turn out to be a rather large and elongated box. Then I decided to cut it out according to my size.

Then I ripped off the braid from the scraps and sewed it on with the same thick silk threads.

As in the previous case, I trimmed the inner surface of the box with red cloth. I cut out two sides of cardboard, covered them with red cloth. Then I cut out two more sides of the same size from scraps of bamboo napkin. Then I glued the fabric-covered sides with bamboo napkin sides.

When assembling the box with hot glue, I placed the red side of the side inward. I glued a black cord to the upper part of the sidewalls. I also glued a black cord to the lid of the box, it will serve as a fastener.

I stuck the coins on the lid of the box as a decoration.
