A snowflake or princess dress will be combined of two parts: a crocheted yoke and a tulle skirt. At the first stage of knitting, it is necessary to calculate the number of loops for the yoke. This is the most difficult thing, and then go according to your idea, how you see a New Year's dress crocheted with tulle for a girl.

First, we come up with an image. Its basis will be the flirtation scheme. I decided to choose a simpler option - a classic square yoke with raglan sleeves with sirloin knitting. See the diagram below.

Yarn selection

Now we choose the yarn and the crochet hook for the New Year's dress. The chosen hook and yarn determines how many loops will need to be typed for the collar and how many rows to knit, as well as the knitting density. For example, if you take a crochet hook that is too thin, the knitting fabric will be dense and tough. This is unlikely to please the delicate baby skin.

I chose YarnART Violet light turquoise yarn. The hook is 1.5 mm.

Calculation of the yoke

Now you need to take measurements. It is necessary to measure the circumference of the neck and chest. Next, I will describe the scheme of how I knitted for my daughter Alice (3 g 4 months, height 95 cm). She got parameters:

• Neck circumference (Obsh) = 25 cm,
• Chest circumference (OG) = 52 cm.

Calculate the knitting density. To do this, tie the square with double crochets, and determine the number of loops in a multiple of centimeters. I have 9 PRS about 2 cm. (PRS - double crochet)

I decided to make the neck of the yoke at 37-38 cm so that it was free on the neck. This is approximately 37 cm x 9 prs / 2 cm = 166.5 sts. But this is not a finite number.

We divide the resulting 166.5 loops by 3, we get 55.5 loops for each part of the yoke knitting:

• 1/3 on the chest,
• 1/3 on the back, 1/6 on each shelf,
• 1/3 on both sleeves, i.e. 1/6 per sleeve.

Now we estimate how many loops will go where, given that according to the rapport of the crocheted dress scheme I have chosen, it is necessary that each part of the yoke has an odd number of loops. I ended up with the following:

• on the chest - 55 loops
• on the shelves of the back, 27 loops each
• on the shelves of the sleeves, 27 loops each.

In total, you need to dial 55 + 27x2 + 27x2 = 163 loops plus 3 lifting loops.

Yoke knitting process

The length of the raglan is limited by the shoulders of the child. I stopped knitting when the width of the chest part became 19 cm. After that, I no longer knitted the sleeves, but only knitted 6 rows of the back and chest shelves. Thus, I increased the height of the armholes sufficiently.

After that, I calculated how many loops are needed for the girth of the chest. To do this, consider the OG (chest girth) = 52 cm and add a margin of 3 cm so that the dress is not sticky. It turns out that the girth of the dress = 55 cm. This size corresponds to 55x9 / 2 = 247 loops.

Calculate the total amount of stitches on the back and chest shelves that are already tied. I got 197 loops.

We consider: 247-197 = 50 loops - this number of loops is not enough to close the yoke in a circle. Divide the number in half. We get 25 air loops, you need to get under each armhole in order to continue knitting the dress.

Tie the required yoke height. At me it ends under the bust, and then the tulle skirt will go.

Tulle skirt

Now you need to make a tulle skirt. There are several options:

• sew tulle directly to a knitted yoke;
• fasten the tulle to the arches from the VP on the yoke;
• fasten tulle to an elastic band and sew to a yoke;
• fasten the tulle to the elastic band for the headbands and sew on.

I chose the latter option. So tulle can be placed in several layers. I made the top one blue, and the bottom one white. It turned out very airy and snowy.

Then just sew this skirt to the yoke and you get a dress.
